We are located just south of Columbia, SC on 12+ Beautiful Acres!
We moved from beautiful VA in the summer of 2008.
(If you are from VA, PA, MD, DC, WV, or anywhere far away, PLEASE keep reading!)
We also own a boarding facility for dogs and cats!
Many of our buildings are under renovations but when fully operational we'll be able to house
up to 72 dogs in kennels which are easily disinfected, safe and secure from even your best escape artist!
If it can hold Monte, it can hold your dog!
We don't ever anticipate 72 boarding dogs being here except in a crisis situation such as hurricanes.
Many people look for that couch, bed, and TV type atmosphere, what they don't think about is
sanitization. Objects like that are not capable of being completely disinfected.
It takes ONE sick dog on ONE couch to make an entire kennel sick for a long time.
All our blankets are disinfected along with our runs by a product that kills everything
from the common cold/flu type germs to parvo, distemper and even a human things like HIV/AIDs
We also do what we say we'll do! Not PRETEND. This include medicating, exercising, bathing and more!
Our facility allows us not only to board, breed and train it gives us an opportunity to rescue dogs.
As a breeder we feel that you shouldn't breed if you won't rescue and actively rescue!
Can you imagine BUSTER (above) was abandoned and left to fend for himself!
He's the coolest lap dog I know! The lady that was on his NAME TAG didn't want him anymore!
We look to give dogs, esp. GSDs that SECOND CHANCE at having a home they didn't have before.
Sugar, one of our first GSD rescues in South Carolina was scheduled to be PTS because
she had SAGGY BOOBS! Ridiculous I know!
We give dogs like Sugar and Buster that second chance.
Our boarding dogs aren't confined all day to their indoor/outdoor runs!
Our boarders get ample exercise time to have fun, frolic and relieve themselves OUTSIDE!
Our exercise areas are completely fenced and range from approximately
10 feet wide by 20 feet long to 15 feet wide and 30 feet long.
Our breeding females are members of our family, and some of the best house dogs you'll find!
Exercise for our personal dogs is simple, we treat them like you'd treat your VDSAUK pup!
Yes, as family members and our companions first and foremost.
We want pups to have that 'FOREVER' home.
We look for show and working homes that families provide not someone
who looks to just try them out and then resell them! We want a forever home for all of our dogs.
We need to know the where about of our dogs at all times!
If you can't keep a pup from us, we need to know about it! We'll take it back!
Best of all, we have dogs all throughout the United States. We even have dogs in Canada and Costa Rica.
Our network of friends grow with each litter we have and with each pup we sell.
We go the distance to get dogs shipped, delivered, and sent to a home (maybe one like yours)
and we expect in return to know where this dog is at all times.
We expect you to keep in touch from time to time.
Although uncommon, we also want to know about any health issues!
If a health issue arises we need to know WHAT so we don't repeat the same breeding!
We breed to better the breed! Now, remember there is no cure for OLD AGE in your dog!
We know your pup by name, by look, by personality and we expect our clients to trust us
and our ability to help them find that dog. If you can't trust us, then who can you trust?
Our kennel has over 10+ years of training experience and a combined total of 20+ years breeding experience.
This is in GERMAN SHEPHERDS alone!
All our breeding dogs are free of HD/ED and have 5+ generations free of HD and ED.
Some of our dogs are in a program for titling, most already are titled and proven.
We aim to produce healthy working and show GSDs suitable for family and top sport.
We have only European Lines from strong working or show backgrounds.
We've placed over 5 dogs into SAR Homes.
Von Der Sauk use to be Vereinigte Stolz (United Pride Shepherds A Strict Working Line Kennel)
and Vom Agassiz (a Strict Show Line Kennel)
combined we now produce pups that have had success in the show and working side of the sport.
Maybe this seems like to much for a GOOD OLE family dog!?
It isn't, without the show and working side of the Sport which TESTS our dogs
MENTAL and PHYSICAL abilities we wouldn't be capable of producing the
stable family dog that is trainable for nearly anything that you ask of it!
We do everything we can to respond to your emails and calls in a timely fashion!
Generally we return a call/email the same day we received it.
Do the other breeders you talk to do the same?
If we don't respond, chances are we didn't get the e-mail/call!
We want clients that are serious about providing proper nutrition, vet care,
training, love, exercise, and life long homes. A client that understands sometimes that
RIGHT dog for you may not be down the road in your community.

We aren't looking to charge you an arm or a leg. We want to give you the correct information
the first time around so you have an IDEA about WHAT it costs, to do it properly!
Breeding doesn't make money! You'll be lucky to get your food paid for and some vet expenses!
Don't want to go down the beaten path alone (even though we are a call away)?
We can start by Co-Owning a pup/adult with you, or by helping you get the right puppy from a litter!
So you say you live to far away to drive here. We'll meet you for less than it will cost to fly a pup.
We can meet you with your puppy generally 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
(Providing we aren't whelping a litter of pups or at a show/trial!)
Yes, most of our clients still come from the DC, MD, VA area.
We like to meet folks from the VA area near Charlotte, Fayetteville, or Concord NC.
We do travel to Richmond, Virginia as well to deliver.
If we can arrange to spend the night at a friends and have an empty boarding kennel
we can meet you even in the NOVA area!
Don't live to the north of us? We can meet you near Augusta, or Atlanta GA!
We can even go south towards Florida! For the right home we'll do what it takes.
You may feel like you can't "grow" with your dog if you don't get it from a local breeder.
Or maybe that the dog won't bond to you if you aren't with it right at 8 weeks or
from the time he or she is born! This is NOT true. After all, most of our dogs
we've imported as adults! They are true to us and would do anything for us!
We don't allow buyers (even if local) to interact with their pups until around
6 weeks of age to prevent any outside illnesses coming into the kennel.
We've been free of disease and we plan to stay that way! We do this for YOU and our dogs!
We keep our buyers UTD with photos (And Video When Our Computer Lets Us!).
It is our experience that we end up helping people "PICK" their dog even if they live 10 minutes from us.
We can do this with you at a distance! Technology is amazing! You can watch your dog grow from a far!
